Over the next few weeks, I will endeavor to send out updates on Irma’s effect on Vero Beach, and our progress getting back to normal. If you have any specific concerns, suggestions or questions, I will try to address them.

There are varying news reports about the rain, storm surge, and winds that will affect Vero Beach over the next few days, but none suggest we will be bypassed. This morning there is mandatory evacuation for residents east of route 1, and we have left hoping to return shortly after the storm passes. The storm winds will begin to affect Vero Sunday morning, hopefully ending by Monday night. If you wish, I would be glad to go by your house and give you my unskilled report on its condition. It may be a week or more before I am able to drive everywhere, as roads may be impassable. Obviously, we are all worried about what the next few days will do to our wonderful town, the possibilities are all discouraging.
