Proponents of the fast train scheduled to be built from Miami to Orland continue to push ahead with their plans.
Because these officials do not adequately explain the details of their plans to the affected local communities like Vero, it is difficult or nearly impossible to determine the negative outcomes on Vero in terms of safety, disruption, destruction, or impairment.
In response, the community has clearly defined the detrimental effects the fast train might bring and the lack of disclosure by All Aboard Florida to all Federal, State, and Local officials. So there has been some realization by officials that All Aboard Florida is not cooperating with communities along the route.
Furthermore, there may be an unobserved stiffening by local officials which could lead to more ridged observation of AAF’s adherence—or lack thereof, to rules and regulations. Finally, the willingness for institutions to finance the project seems to be exceptionally weak. So the best strategy is to keep up the pressure.
